Allison Yamamoto is the Founder and CEO of Koa Athletic Health, specializing in REDs prevention and recovery for female athletes. A former NCAA cheerleader and marathon runner with lived experience navigating REDs, she holds certifications in sports nutrition, intuitive eating, disordered eating coaching, and fitness training. She works with athletes navigating missing periods, performance plateaus, cycles of injury, and burnout.
What distinguishes her work is her interdisciplinary approach—Koa's programs were built in collaboration with reproductive endocrinologists, sports medicine physicians, registered dietitians, and psychiatrists. She addresses the training, nutrition, and psychological barriers to recovery, including perfectionism, body image concerns, and stress management. She offers both 1:1 coaching and group programs for athletes at various stages of REDs prevention and recovery, working with clients remotely from Brooklyn, New York.
