Courtney Pensavalle is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and mental performance coach at Sportstrata, a private practice in NYC that treats elite athletes experiencing clinical mental health and performance related challenges. In addition, Courtney is currently a doctoral student at Pace University, pursuing her PhD in mental health and wellness. Clinically, Courtney integrates a range of approaches including cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR), somatic experiencing, internal family systems, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. She works with adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of difficulties including generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, body image concerns, trauma, and performance-related issues. A former Division I hockey player at Yale University, she is particularly passionate about working with young women and individuals that compete in elite performance spaces. In her spare time, Courtney plays recreational hockey all over the city, teaches yoga privately (RYT), and rock climbs.
