Kara Bazzi, a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, is the co-founder and Clinical Director of Opal:Food+Body Wisdom, a higher level of care eating disorder treatment center in Seattle, WA. Rooted in her personal history as a division I cross country and track athlete, Kara has created and led the Exercise+Sport programming at Opal, ensuring that treatment is adequately addressing one’s relationship to exercise and sport as a central component of holistic care. She is a strong advocate for change in the sport culture, using her personal and professional expertise of nearly 20 years in the eating disorder field to educate, inspire and train clinicians, athletes and coaches in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Kara was a 2018 recipient of the 40 under 40 Puget Sound Business Journal award for her innovative work. Kara has two teenage daughters, both cross country and track athletes, her oldest recently committed to run at a division 1 program.
