Elizabeth Briasco

Sports & ED Dietitian

In addition to ED recovery and sports nutrition, I also specialize in IBS and have completed the Monash University training for providers.

As an eating disorder & sports dietitian, I am passionate about helping anyone who identifies as an "athlete" fuel for their sport and life without losing their shit around food, no matter where they're at in their sport career. High school, collegiate, semi-pro, retired - I welcome all levels and stages!

My favorite part of what I do is forming connections with my clients and helping them use their resilient athlete mindset toward recovery from disordered eating/eating disorders. I cover a wide range of topics in sessions, from practical skills like meal planning and grocery shopping to more abstract concepts that explain the reason(s) behind eating behaviors (spoiler alert - it's NOT because you're a terrible person!). I use a trauma-informed, HAES-aligned, client-centered approach to educate and empower clients to heal their relationship with food, movement, and body so that they can live the life they want and deserve.

Currently completing the REDs-Informed Provider course. RRCA certified running coach.

Hello!

I'm a co-founder of Lane 9 Project, and have a private practice where I specialize in nutrition for athletes in women's sports, at all levels.

As a registered dietitian with a specialty in sports nutrition and disordered eating, I have helped clients recover from REDs—not fueling adequately for sport, hypothalamic amenorrhea, and/or struggling with an eating disorder—for over a decade. I work with clients individually, supporting them with their relationship to food, adequate fueling, and flexible nutrition to support their everyday life and their sport(s). I have additional training in supporting the postpartum return-to-sport athlete, as both a running coach and dietitian.

I can work with folks in the following states: Michigan, Illinois, California, Colorado, Virginia, and Arizona.

Run Coaching:
I'm also a certified running coach through RRCA, and have been coaching athletes for a range of distances—5Ks to ultra-marathons—since 2018. I also provide this service virtually, and work with clients all over the US!

You'll find me in Ann Arbor MI, leading a local running group and learning on-the-go as a Volunteer Race Director for a local 5K/10K. I also have three kiddos, a dog named Banana, and love to talk about women's sports.

Jackie Hendrickson

Registered Dietitian & Run Coach

I'm a registered dietitian and running coach with a masters of public health from Utah State University. I live in beautiful Cache Valley, Utah with my husband and three little boys. We love exploring the mountains, doing crafts, watching Bluey, and going on walks/runs together.

My purpose and passion as a registered dietitian is to help YOU achieve your athletic potential through proper fueling and nutrition. I focus on pairing intuitive eating principles with sports nutrition guidance to help you develop a healthier relationship with food and your body.

I am a firm believer that when we learn to respect our body enough to fuel it properly & gain a healthy relationship with food & ourselves, we are better able to reach our potential in our long-term performance as endurance athletes.

By learning to do this myself (after years of under fueling), I have been able to find the personal success & achievement with my own running goals I had always been striving for. Gaining a healthy relationship with food & my body has made all the difference in. I love both road and trail running, and have goals in both the marathon and ultra distances that I am chasing.

I work with all ages of athletes, and specialize in endurance sports such as running, swimming, cycling, and triathlon. I provide nutrition support for RED-S, disordered eating, and clinically diagnosed eating disorders.

Jillian Tholen

Registered dietitian nutritionist specializing in sports nutrition

My goal is to help your to truly appreciate your body and to take care of in a way that allows it to function at its very best. And when it comes to food, I aim to help you learn how to best fuel and nourish your body, using an approach that is intuitive, rather than rigid or restrictive. If you’re struggling with your relationship with food, exercise, and/or your body, my goal is to help you re-learn what it’s like to trust your internal cues and to appreciate all of the incredible things your body can do, instead of focusing on what it looks like. I also love to work with athletes of all ages and abilities to help them best understand how to fuel for training and racing/competition. I have particular interest and experience working with endurance athletes and helping to craft fueling plans for races and training.

My particular areas of interest/expertise are the following:  disordered eating/eating disorders, sports nutrition/nutrient timing for races and training, and female hormones throughout the life cycle (including nutrition for pregnancy and postpartum), and secondary amenorrhea (getting a period back).

I did a specific rotation in my dietetic internship working in eating disorders, and worked in a treatment center as well. I also see clients for eating disorders currently in private practice. In my clincial job and also in private practice, I also work extensively with REDs as a part of a multidisciplinary team specialized in women's sports medicine.

LPC

Katherine Hill

Sports & Eating Disorder Medical Provider

I began doing clinical research on REDs and eating disorders in athletes about 18 years ago, inspired by my experiences as an NCAA DI swimmer. After medical school and medical training, I joined the faculty of Stanford Adolescent Medicine focusing primarily on eating disorders and REDs. I then joined Equip Health as the founding physician leader, building out the medical team and structure, until I left recently to start AthleatMD.

Hi there! I'm a board-certified medical doctor, co-founder of AthleatMD, and former Stanford swimmer passionate about caring for any athlete struggling with REDs and eating disorders. I provide compassionate, all-virtual medical consultation and ongoing care to children, adolescents, and young adults up through age 30 in all 50 US states + DC.

I first became passionate about REDs and eating disorders in athletic populations college, when I began doing clinical research in this area. After completing medical school and Pediatrics residency at Stanford, I joined the clinical faculty in Stanford Adolescent Medicine, where I cared for adolescent and young adults with eating disorders in the inpatient and outpatient settings. I then joined Equip Health, now the nation's leading virtual eating disorder treatment program, as the founding Medical Director, building out the medical team and program, as well as the physical activity protocols and athlete groups.

Recently, I cofounded AthleatMD with Megan Hellner, DrPH, RD, to help bring expert, virtual medical and nutrition services to athletes struggling REDs, sports nutrition, and eating disorders. As former athletes, Dr. Hellner and I identified a gap in treatment for athletes needing clinicians with expertise in REDs and eating disorders, as well as in the athlete identity. We know that athletes tend to perform at their best, and have more sustainable careers, when their bodies are in a proper energy balance. We'd love to help you optimize your health and reach your goals - in your sport and beyond.

My services include:

- Medical consultation and follow up
- Remote vital sign monitoring
- Lab testing- Prescription medications (when indicated)
- Physical activity prescriptions and guidance
- Care collaboration with other care team members when needed
- Family consultations

When appropriate, AthleatMD can provide dietitian services as well for individualized nutrition support. I look forward to working with you!
